<strong>Browse,</strong> I will look forward to the day, and I won't accept oatmeal only. I want to hang out with you and experience the full range and reach of your culinary talents. I've seen the pix on Flickr; I hear your Twitters. In fact, you should write up a day's worth of your suggestions for fuel (with instructions, plz!) and let me try it and post it, both.

Just this morning, I was wondering where oats fell in your diet. Makes me happy to see 'em there. Someday, I will see you with my very own eyes again, and if you're very good I will show you how to make the very best oatmeal on the planet. :-)

Sulfite free wine?? I had no idea there was such a thing. I need to look for that. I'm also going to see if I can find a Texas wine; we have quite a number of Carolina wines available here of course, and even a few good ones, but I can't recall seeing any Texas wines. However, there's a great little independent wine shop not too far from me and I'm going to drop in. We also have one of those godawful wine warehouse places; maybe I'll check in there, too.

Lately I've been prefering whites over reds. Usually a pinot grigio or chardonnay. If it's a red then I'll go with merlot or a cab sav. I try to stay in the $7-10 range and favor Texas wines when available (Llano, St Genevieve, Fall Creek, etc.) however Columbia Crest in Washington has some good wines in that price range as well. Every now and then I'll get an organic wine and I'd love to find a sulfite free wine that's available at the local market (as opposed to the big honkin' glorious liquor store super mart type of place.)

I almost always buy red wines, and I try to buy something I've never tried every time I purchase a favorite. The always-in-the-house staple of my reds is pinot noir. I usually spend between $10 - $15 per bottle of wine, but will also spend up to $25 - $30 for a special occasion. In addition to reds, I adore Domain Chandon's Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. And just about any dry champagne.

Here's the three wines currently in my pantry:

1. Cellar No. 8, California Zinfandel (2005)
2. Wyndham Estate Bin 333 Pinot Noir, South Eastern Australia (2007)
3. Jacob's Creek Shiraz, South Australia (2006)

What do you like to drink?

I'm going to be looking for that horseradish cheese...

Instead of the smoothies I do organic yogurt (much less work). I was doing the steel cut oats in the microwave (several rounds of nuking at 50 seconds a pop) and they were only "slightly" crunchy by the time I was done, however, I've finally capitulated and gone with the rolled oats since they soften up with only one blast in microwave.

BTW, what <strike>kind</strike> brand of wine(s) do you like and in what price range? Oh yeah, try the horseraddish (flavored) cheese sometime if you haven't yet - goes great with wine.
