The Maker’s One Wish from Lisa Creech Bledsoe on Vimeo.
This is the Maker’s answer to the surprise interview question: If you could have ONE THING that your parents say “No” to, what would it be?
Although it caught me off guard at the time, I should have known this answer. And it’s just characteristic of the Maker to set about, well, making whatever he desires. Even parental limits don’t seem to phase him overmuch, to my continuing amazement and often delight.
Oh, and couldja keep the secret box, er, secret? By the Maker’s request. Kthxbai.

I loved it! Absolutely priceless!
All the cool adventures a boy could have with a proper sword.. (emergency room and limb reattachment notwithstanding.)
Define “proper” sword. Lordy, they have so many sharp-edged implements. I can’t count the times I’ve seen them out there whittling some stick into a blade or pike or whacking staff. And then there are the paper, Lego, Knex, PVC pipe and other versions. One time the Maker was digging a hole WITH A PITCHFORK and put it through his BARE foot. Sigh. I don’t know why in the hell we had a pitchfork, living in the suburbs like we do. Bad parenting, most likely.
