Chevelle Hallback

Chevelle Hallback

Ahh, the powerful, beautiful, pro boxer Chevelle Hallback (28-7-2).

She’s in my top five favorite boxers of all time. I’ve written about Chevelle, interviewed her, and I even got to talk to her on the phone right after I won my first fight, and I am unbelievably happy to hear this particular news of hers. Add to my bucket list a trip to Tampa Bay to train with her in person at her brand new gym. I will be very interested to see how the boxing team there progresses.

Thanks to Amy Green, boxing publicist, fight fan, and sister pina colada drinker, for sending out the press release below! — Lisa

I really tried to use all single-syllable words for simplicity’s sake but it just wasn’t worth giving up that last one. And the hardest one of the four? Coming in at number two, over and over again: breathe. It [...]

Many of the top pro boxing women know each other; a fact that becomes more and more evident to me when I hear my trainer Bonnie “Queen B” Mann chatting aimiably about meeting with Mia St. John in Vegas, running into Laila Ali at a hotel, or talking with Erin Toughill or Christy Martin on [...]
