a letter to my 30 year old self

1. This is the worst part of it. Hang in there, stay committed to the big choices you’ve made. I promise it will get better, but it’s gonna take a few years to climb out of the pit.

2. The sooner you start figuring out YOUR part in this mess, the better off you’ll be. Accept all offers of help from healthy people who have your best interest at heart.

3. Don’t allow yourself to be evaluated or shaped by people whose lives are spiritually, emotionally, or physically a wreck. You’re going to figure this out eventually, but if you can make this one important thing a part of your growth, you’ll get farther faster (I think I said that to you about 10 years ago).

4. I wish I had more comfort to offer. Your two biggest choices were, and still are, really good ones. You are making the third one, the best and hardest of all, right now.
