1. Celtic Daily Prayer: Prayers and Readings from the Northumbria Community
2. unchristian / Kinnaman & Lyons
3. The Privilege of the Sword /Ellen Kushner
4. Nothing Human / Nancy Kress
5. Joust / Mercedes Lackey
6. Edenborn / Nick Sagan
7. (not pictured) The Wild Road / Gabriel King

Small notes: Edenborn, by Carl Sagan’s son Nick Sagan, had promise but didn’t deliver. It’s gotta be hard to follow that dad’s act. Joust and The Privilege of the Sword were both fun romps, the kind of thing you read in a day or so, and The Wild Road (not pictured) was a pretty good book in the tradition of Watership Down and Tailchaser’s Song. I went back for the sequel. UnChristian is another great from Barna’s group, and Celtic Daily Prayer is in my bookstack with regularity. I was saving Nothing Human for last, as it looks juciest (I adore post-apocalyptic sci fi).
