name voyager

I keep going back to this fascinating gadget, the namevoyager.

When my father was born, his parents chose his name from a list of first and middle names issued to expectant families by (amazingly) the military. His first name, Thomas, was the 8th most popular name during the decade when he was born. When I was born, Lisa was at number one, which would explain the five Lisa’s in my first grade class. My name stayed in the top of the rankings until my sister’s name, Lauren, began to become popular. Both the Husband and I have sisters named Lauren.

It’s all about backlash. My first son’s name doesn’t register on the namevoyager at all.
