How to Wrap Your Hands for Boxing Competition
When you’re training for boxing, you’ll probably wear regular boxing wraps or gel gloves underneath your boxing gloves for protection and support.
When you compete under the USA Boxing sanction, the rules on what you can use to wrap your hands, and how you must wrap them, are very specific.

How to Pack Your Coach Bag for Amateur Boxing Events
Since I’m usually officiating, I’m not the one who packs the gym bag to take our competitive boxing team to their events, but sometimes I pitch in to help the other coaches remember everything we need.
And finally I wrote it all down, since that’s infinitely preferable to madly scrambling around at the last minute, trying to remember what all our boxing team will need once they get to the competitive arena.
Btw, I searched the internet and didn’t find ANYTHING to help you pack your competition bag, so if you happen so see something, please link it in the comments. Just the fact that I couldn’t find anything made me wonder if I was missing something…

I have NO idea so don’t even ask
The Maker asked his friend to tape his legs together (see title, above) and then demanded to be photographed. I think the Maker’s friend was a little nervous that there might be trouble. He just moved in across the street and doesn’t know (yet!) that we aren’t a normal family. -
Second Chance Card
Today is just one of those days; too much to do and not enough resources to get everything done. I was cranky and worried and I told several people in vivid and eloquent terms that I felt like cat yak, once right before we went through the buffet line at lunch (which may have put them off a bit).When we got home I sighed heavily and confessed in passing to the Maker that I hadn’t done so well today. He got this odd look on his face, told me to hold on a minute, and disappeared on an urgent errand. I had been having this effect on people all day, so I took it in stride. But momentarily the Maker returned, and beaming, handed me this fabulous card.
With great excitement he told me that God gives second chances. He said I should cover my card with clear packing tape so that it would be a bit more waterproof (?), and he also told me I could only use it once, which was profoundly discouraging considering my track record this week. So I double-checked on that point and he said, well, I could make some more.
Whew! With a pack of markers and some index cards I should be set.

how to build your own staircase runner (and dismantle it quickly)
First what I did was I just started rolling the masking tape roll down the stairs. Then I decided, “I need to catch it somehow before it goes off the stairs.” So what I did was, I got a tissue box that all the tissues were used. And then I taped it to the bottom of the stairs so the masking tape roll would run into it. I made a ramp at the very top of the stairs so I could make it go faster and higher. To make the ramp, I taped a ruler to the top of the stairs.To make the staircase runner work, you put the roll of masking tape at the top of the stairs on the ruler and let it run down the base of the banister rail and it gets in the tissue box at the bottom! It makes a thump when it lands in the box. It doesn’t go in the box every time. You gotta get it real straight so it will go straight to the box. — The Maker, age 6
PS: Take off the masking tape before your mom gets there or she’ll yell at you for taping on the paint.

The Maker’s Favorite Gift
The Maker’s favorite gift was the same as it was last year. It was also the same gift he received somewhere around his birthday, which is conveniently located approximately half-way between Christmases.
Two words, in order of priority: tape and rope.
This boy loves him some tape and rope. Three times in the two or so weeks prior to Christmas, the Maker put on our grocery list “Duct Tape.” He’s been out for a month or more, and was reasonably upset that I came back from the store multiple times without any. Finally it occurred to me to suggest, “Maybe Santa will bring you some,” and that seemed to calm him down a bit.
So his biggest present contained
- duct tape, 1 roll (they didn’t have the tear-by-hand kind, oh well)
- painter’s tape, blue, 3 rolls
- clear scotch tape, 3 rolls
- multicolored laces, 1 pack
- 500 feet of nylon rope, purple
- heavy-duty household twine, 1 roll
- standard cotton string, 1 roll
- extra-wide masking tape, 4 rolls
It was great. It will last about 6 weeks. I’m gonna have to adjust our budget.
